Bert. first of all can you attach a trailer hitch? 2nd, will it pull a trailer up the mountains? 3rd, what mileage then? Reconsidering?
I will believe it when I see it. Don
Don’t know, really don’t now, and know idea! Final answer… Yes! That old Dodge Cummins TD will undoubtedly make the round-trip to Cody for the 22nd straight year. 404K miles and still going strong!

Won’t do any good to tempt me, checkbook still in rehab and recovery will be a long process. Looking forward to seeing you and any shiny bits you bring. Don’t forget Jeremy’s sight, we’re both looking forward to shooting that carbine. The 32 fan club might just have a new member soon!

I already hounded him twice! He’s still looking for me one, I hope someone pulls a rabbit out of the hat or there’s just one magically there.

I’ll be bringing my 2015 diesel Ram. Perhaps yours and mine can get together and yours can share stories of the “good ‘ol days” before DEF and emissions equipment!

Jeremy…. I haven’t found my “nice condition” sight box…. Very frustrating. I will bring a “2 leaf” loaner for you if I can’t come up with it before I leave tomorrow…
Roger that! I must’ve thought you didn’t have one, not that you couldn’t find it! Make sure to check the “sights for annoying new guys” box.

… and better fuel economy! I have a 4″ straight exhaust from the Turbocharger all the way to the bitter end of the tail pipe.

OfflineStruck out today…. The Win 61 22 WMR was nice…. Metal was 98% and the Wood was 90%… the asking price was pretty strong & he wouldn’t budge. ($200. less than the boxed 62). When I declined to purchase, he put it away and said he would wait to bring out the 1890’s…. Such is life. 🤷🏼

Bert, you’ve opened up a whole new can of worms with that post of your future rig… I’m trying to figure out how to photoshop a pic of you inside that “whatever it is”. 🙂
It would certainly make it easier to find a parking spot. Folks who design today’s parking lots have never driven a four-door pickup with an eight foot bed. I don’t think my picture would fit in that clown car.

Will the wonders never cease? I think you may have hurt a gun dealer’s feelings! Or maybe he’s just trying to mess with you a bit. I’d offer him a bit less than today’s offer on the 61 next time.
Safe travels!

I’ve been watching Win 61 22 mags for a while and actual sale prices have been trending down. Most “minty” examples are listed in the $2,000. to $2,200. range…. but sales are stagnant. There have been several completed auctions in the $1,450 to $1,650. range. There was an “outlier” last week when a “decent” example at Cabela’s was listed & sold for $1,295. That was the lowest I had seen one online in a long time. Maybe I’ll find one in Texas… never know. 🙂

OfflineI sold a very nice 61M a few years ago. It was too nice to shoot and safe queens don’t interest me. Timing is everything!

OfflineInstinct is important but timing is everything. The rifles (at least those we’re interested in) don’t change; their owners do.
In the case at bar, progressively younger owners are less and less impressed by the rarity of a Winchester 61 WMR.
The trick is to outlive those owners who think like we do. It is getting harder….
