OfflineVisited one of my favorite gun shops today. Since I’ve been away for the last two weeks I asked “what’s new that’s old…?”… I was pointed to a display case… a nice Winchester 62A… in it’s matching numbered box… not “new in the box”, but pretty close. I asked how long it had been on display, “two weeks” the reply came… I asked “are you open to a serious cash offer?”… yes was the answer… I offered, he accepted. I handed him the money and then asked “are there any more?”… yes was the answer again. 🙂 But they wouldn’t be out till next Tuesday… I asked for “first shot” and three times the charm… his response was “yes, you’ve got first shot”… can’t wait till next Tuesday… a minty Win 61 in 22 WMR and two 1890’s… no boxes though…

Mike… if I get them, they just might fit in my case heading to the Texas show… 🙂 maybe I can tempt you. 🙂
Ben-
Won’t do any good to tempt me, checkbook still in rehab and recovery will be a long process. Looking forward to seeing you and any shiny bits you bring. Don’t forget Jeremy’s sight, we’re both looking forward to shooting that carbine. The 32 fan club might just have a new member soon!

OfflineI look forward to seeing you, Ben, but I’m so gun and accessory poor from recent over-exhuberent behavior I may have to borrow gas money to get to Denton. Not much blood in this turnip. But I’ll be there to represent the Proles.

Good grief…. I thought Texans were loaded! Since it seems nobody on WACA has any green to part with, I might just have to bring S&W’s to the show… sheesh. 🙂
It is not just our Texas WACA members who are getting light in the pocket these days. I just filled up my truck the other day… $220 later, I was able to drive off with a full tank! Price at the pump for No. 2 diesel was $6.69/gl. At that price, it will be $725 in just my fuel for the round trip to the Cody show this year

My current ride is great on gas even if it prefers 91 octane. Problem is all those windows, doors, siding, trim and new roof from that tornado blew away any fun money I may have had. Besides, herd needs a bit of thinning.
