The Winchester Model 67 pictured at the following link is serial numbered and the question of who did it appears to be a mystery.  I’m thinking that it might have been done by Sears for the reasons I have mentioned, but I could be out in left field on this mystery.  Comments welcomed.

The number stamped on the barrel most likely is not a serial number.  I suspect that it is an order number, or a tracking number.

Based on the way it was altered to mount the scope, I feel relatively confident in stating that it was not factory work.  I do not have any definitive thoughts about who specifically may have altered it for the scope.
