Checking on manufacture date for a 9422M F20543. Thinking 1972?

That is correct.

I have a Winchester 9422m .22 magnum with serial F704855. What year would this be? How do I find specific model info as well is this series an xrt or something different?

Your Model 9422M was manufactured approximately mid-year 1997.

If you can provide a clear picture of your 9422M, we can identify which variation it is.  That stated, the XTR variation was the “fancy” grade with checkered stocks and a slightly better finish on the steel.

I don’t think it’s an XTR then as it has solid wood grain stock with no checkering. I can’t figure out how to upload pictures? Could I email them?

My 9422 has a serial number of FTC8474 anyone got an idea on manufacturing date? Also stock and forearm don’t match well but almost 100% sure they are original. I have all original packing, letters etc. the stock is light while the forearm is dark and high gloss

Your Model 9422 is not one of the standard production models.  I suspect that it is one of the Special edition or commemorative models.  What (if anything) is marked on the barrel or receiver frame ?  Pictures ?

Box on that FTC serial number says 9422 Tribute SPCL Traditional. Other than that looks like a regular 9422 with checkered stocks. I want to sell it so trying to figure out value

The Special Edition Tribute Model 9422 was manufactured in the year 2005 (just before the Model 9422 was discontinued).  The list price was $516.

I am in the process of acquiring a 9422 marked 22 S, L, LR.  It has a laminated stock.  I have to get the serial number from the seller.  What year did the laminated stocks come with these fine rifles?

One short online history of the 9422 says that the “Win Cam” (Green) and “Win Tuff” (Brow) laminated stocks were introduced in 1987 and 1989, respectively. They were available for several years, perhaps until the late 90s.

I cannot.  The DOM table I have only goes up through 1994 – F671391.

What I can tell you, is that for the 10-years covering 1985 – 1994, the average annual production was 13,209. If that same average is applied going forward in time, that would indicate that S/N 776212 was reached in the latter half of the year 2002.

FYI, I purchased my 9422 high grade (coon & hound) in Oct 1996 for $369 SN 700423. My understanding is that they were only made for 2 years. Don
