I like that; “catch and release”. I’m getting better at “catching” but my “release” needs a little work. I still think I have to shoot them all and that certainly slows down the process.
Yep, the Winchester Catch and Release program gives me the exhilaration of the hunt, the thrill of the detailed research and then the joy of turning it over to the next person to repeat the process. You should have seen the look of joy? on Bert’s face when he let go of that highwall to me.
Besides, I can’t afford them all (at the same time).
Best Regards,
Jeff… that is the first high-wall I have turned loose of in more than 20-years… and I already miss it On the flip-side, my wife was ecstatic that I sold the three Winchesters that I did not come home with. You owe me a very nice Model 1903
Bert
p.s. keep an I on your mail box…
On Guns Intl. there was the nicest M1903 I have ever seen. I missed it by a day. It was somewhere around $500. Gun was 98%++. It was at a Washington, Cabelas. I have a real nice 4 digit M1903 that I would never part with. Advised by JWA not to shoot it as it has the bronze firing pin. Big Larry
That would have been PERFECT, I could have told Bert to just drive down and pick it up.
Keep your eyes peeled, he is looking for a good one.
Sorry to miss you on the way back from Cody, I will make a special trip up to visit when I get back from Europe.
Stay safe my friend.

Best Regards,
Things got really messed up here. Tom was unavailable for the past two weeks with a cyst in the back of his leg. I had company, my other Grandson and his family were in town, and Larry SR. and his wife got Covid and that cancelled the family reunion. Jr. had an ulcer, with no insurance. Over $10,000. I had my 4th shot, so am hoping for the best. I am looking forward to seeing you. You’re the best. Big Larry

Why didn’t he use the same insurance all the wets use–a hospital E.R., where by law no one can be refused, esp. the preggos who take a taxi from the border crossing to cash in on Uncle Sucker’s generosity, with the fringe benefit that their brat is born a US citizen.
