For the Winchester 22 collectors. Finally acquired a collector grade 69A with grooved receiver(1958). The barrel is marked 55 but after speaking to JWA, he advised its 1957–1959. Barrels were sometimes at the bottom of the bin but all got used eventually. Was hoarding a Weaver tipoff circa 1959 scope for this final addition to go with the others.

Looks great Rick, glad you got a nice one!
Some idiot wrote a book on them and they have been going up in price quickly.
The period correct Weaver looks right at home on it.
Best Regards,

Thanks for all your help over the past year Jeff. Your book is incredible and should be in everyone’s collection!

Those all-steel Weavers can’t be beat. I recently acquired a K1 of about the same vintage.
Yes nice vintage scopes Clarence. I almost sold it a couple times over the past few yrs but wasn’t willing to part with it for a $50.

$50! I paid $200 for the K1 with rings!

Nice collection you have there Big Larry!
Thanks Rick. Out of the many M69-A’s I have, only one has a bbl. date. It is also numbered for export. I think it is “55” as well.
Of all my grooved M69-A’s, I found my JTSS the hardest to find. Maybe because mine has the numbered stock for Griffin & Howe. Big Larry

Very nice score, Rick. Maybe you should have built a bigger rack?

Haha thanks Mike.
Hard to believe the late model grooved receiver took the longest to find in collector grade but very happy now with all 4. Happy Holidays to you & yours!
And to you and yours, Rick. You and Larry have inspired me to load up my display rack and enjoy, at least for a couple of days. Thank you!
Mike
Displays are nice, BUT, you are exposing your collection to thieves and the like.
I never leave any of my real nice guns out, unless I have company coming and want to be a big showoff.
Everyone wears gloves, and we can pass them around for a close look.
Merry Xmas to all. Take care and be safe. More guns are on the way. Maybe some under the tree. Big Larry, gun collector.

Surprised that would be a serious concern out in the Nevada desert, esp. when thieves have their choice of the many millionaires in Vegas to plunder. I don’t worry about it myself.

Larry is up in UT, Las Vegas thieves don’t want to drive that far.
