Picked up this model 64 carbine in 25-35…it’s far from perfect, but after reading the 4th edition of the Red Book and talking to Bert, learned it’s a fairly scarce item.  The thrill of the hunt is alive & well!

Ben,

Per my research survey, the estimated total production for the Model 64 20-inch Rifle variation in the 25-35 WCF cartridge was just 650 guns.  I tracked down the date of manufacture to November 15th, 1941.

A great Winchester, and I love the fact that it was made just 3 weeks before Pearl Harbor!

I have rarely seen a tang sight mounted on a M64.

All of the pre-WW II production Model 64 rifles were frilled & tapped for a tang sight.

Indeed.  I’m just saying I haven’t seen many tang sights in those tap holes.  Maybe they’re more common than I’ve encountered?
