My Dad has collected Winchesters as long as I can Remember.  He and mom  sold their place in Michigan’s Upper peninsula a couple of years ago. The winters are long and hard, and he’s turning 80 this year and 300+ inches of snow each season was getting tough to deal with.  He and Mom moved into a condo in the Southern lower peninsula to be closer to my sister & l.
Space is limited in the new place and most of his guns now reside in one of my safes.  He’s been slowly giving me things which leaves me with definite mixed feelings…. The other day I went to visit and he sent me home with a box of books.  I guess I’ll have plenty to read this winter….

Of the pile, I’d say that the Winchester Sight book is most difficult to find… congratulations.

He still had several others…. In fact, I bought him an unopened copy of Rob Kassab’s 1895 book from Rick Hill at the Cody show as a belated Father’s Day present.  He’s absolutely loved that book, and been through it a couple of times.

Looks to me like Dad has given you a homework assignment. Some very good reference books in that stack!

Single most useful book is Watrous–not for the minutia of mfg changes that you’d find in a single-model book, but for dates of production, standard calibers & sights, production numbers, etc.  Can’t read title of 5th from left.  Is it by Tom Rowe?
