BTW I need some help, I am not very talented in computers and there use, so I am wondering how do I present a question to the members?
Tom, If you’ve gotten this far, you have all the talent you need. Just decide which topic category seems most relevant to your question, & fire away. “General Discussions & Questions” may be the place to start; look for the “Add Topic” box on the upper right side of the page. And welcome!
I just had a friend tell Me He was outbid on an item this past sale at R.I.A.. They called Him after the sale and told Him the other bid had been recinded , that He could have the item for His last bid. Now My Buddy is a pretty savvy Guy when it comes to gun auctions. He figured out He’d been bidding against “the house” , so He told the rep that He’d take the item for His initial bid, the one before the house started bidding it up. He got His piece. I find this very disturbing being an off site bidder

Always felt similar, place a bid with with a plus 1 or plus 2 and seems thats where the bidding starts even though sealed email bid says different. Been there done that. IHO dont dub around with the email bids, wait for the real auction day and pay the online bid fee. Of course RIA is the only place that charges that. You will pay less in the long run.
I like what Roger said. I also like to buy at gun shows. Auction houses are never the best or cheapest route. Expense is one part and you haven’t had the chance to see the gun in person. And then we could get into all of the shenanigans. Many auction houses charge more for online bidding. Someone has to pay for Proxy Bid or a similar service.
