Be warned though the listing is kind of broken, it won’t combine shipping if you buy more than one. Just call their store in Ocala, FL and they’ll ship for $7 no matter how many. I have the number if you need it.
There were actually four (4) pre-64 Winchester factory sight hoods, designated, from low to high.
#3276 for the Model 94 and others
#3277 for the 24″ Model 64 and a few others
#3278 for the Model 70 except for some obsolete calibers,.and 71.
#3279 for the Model 52 Sporting
JWA has published a comprehensive chart showing measured dimensions of these except for the #3279, specimens of which nobody could find to measure.
The #3276 and 3278 are by far the most common, although genuine WRA parts are expensive.
Seewin has said the 3278 actually looks better on the 52 Sporting and that is what I have on my 52C Sporting.
I would want to know whether the Ocala relicas are made of formed spring steel or if they were investment cast. My experience tells me investment cast pieces that thin are too fragile.

I have a high condition 52B Sporting, that wears what I assume is the original front sight hood. If it’s helpful to you or Jeff or anyone else, I’m happy to dig it out for confirmation of originality, and measurements.

It would be extremely helpful if you could take some measurements and photographs. I’ll try to find the Winchester production drawing of the more common 3278, so you can take comparable measurements.
If you could, closeup photos of these views would be very useful:
A view of the side (an elevation view)
A view of the top (a plan, or dorsal, view)
A view of the inside (an antral view)
A view of the inside, from either end.)
What I would propose to do is to take your photos and measurements and annotate the photos with the measurements, using Photoshop. Then, post the annotated photos here with full credit to you.
If you would undertake the task, I’ll PM you my personal email to receive the jpeg images. By all means, go ahead and post the measurements and your photos here directly, as well.
