So being the soft hearted fool that I am. I had a friend from work call me last week asking if I would be interested in a couple Winchesters. Well my spidy senses kicked in at that point and requested pictures. He sent them, I looked, I asked how much, deal was stuck. Low and behold turns out there both post war 94 eastern carbines. And I was happy to find a 47 flat band in 30wcf and a 48′ in 25-35. Hope I didn’t do bad on this deal?

Honest, well-cared-for carbines. What’s not to like? I’ve given up on the rotated pics. If the site doesn’t like the way I orient them I’m OK with that.

And that is why you are supposed to take notes!

Please send me the serial numbers (for the survey).

Serial numbers are 1498770, 30 wcf.

1568330, 25-35 wcf.

I will ask this, please note the front sight hoods. They are not the same. Are they correct for the respective guns?

The sight hood that is beveled on both ends is original. The hood with the straight back edge is a repro.

Is the magazine tube end cap slotted or smooth on the Flat Band Carbine?

1498770 = 1948

1568330 = 1949

If you want the exact dates, contact Pauline Muerrle.

Bert beat me, but if you’re interested in repops, this eBay seller has some good ones…here’s the one you need: https://ebay.io/m/No0fTd

Be warned though the listing is kind of broken, it won’t combine shipping if you buy more than one. Just call their store in Ocala, FL and they’ll ship for $7 no matter how many. I have the number if you need it.

Tom –

That is a nice looking pair of carbines.  The .25-35 chambering was a nice bonus on that carbine.  I can see how it wasn’t in the cards to resist this deal.
