Looks like Allan Wilson is selling out.He has some interesting stuff. I think Amoskeag used his descriptions and some are a little off like item #380.
He displayed this at the Easetern Winchester Show in 1994.I mentioned “to bad somebody cut the barrel off” and was he mad , I think other people had said the same thing.
Never saw that particular gun that I recall, but I remember that show, because there, a dealer I’d met at the shop of a gunsmith specializing in restorations, sold a faked ’86 for big dough; about 5 Gs, I think. Don’t know what its original chambering had been, but when it left this shop, it was a .50-110, re-barreled with one of Sonny France’s barrels, and re-blued and re-stocked in XXX wood. Don’t know if all France’s barrels were roll-marked with the same die, but the one used to mark this barrel had misspelled “Manufactured,” omitting, I think, one of the “u”s. Have always wondered what “discerning” Winchester collector wound up with it.
