Just acquired a very pretty rifle this week, thanks to Matt74. Here is the Factory Information:
Serial number 174878 applied on February 24, 1903
Type: Rifle
Caliber: 30
Barrel Type: Round
Trigger: Plain
1/2 Magazine
Takedown
Received in warehouse on March 30, 1903
Shipped from warehouse on March 31, 1903, Order Number 182256
Here is a photo, but the photo does not do it justice. In real life, the blueing is much darker than the photo shows.

That looks like a very nice gun in a neat configuration. Pretty wood.
My .30WCF shoots every jacketed bullet I’ve tried in it accurately. I think it’s a nice caliber to load for with all the options available for bullets. I imagine you will try cast. I will be very interested in seeing the range report.
Well done.

Yup, nice looking TD Sporting Rifle Kirk!
I can attest to the fact that the gun certainly looks better than this photo shows. Much more nice dark blue. The thing I like about this gun is the extra grain wood. The fact that the barrel measures out a bit thicker than usual is kinda neat too. Not a heavier than standard barrel, as it is within tolerances from what I have read, but can’t hurt for shooting. Looking forwards to that range report.
