Well, this is "mustang", and I am a new Forumer, so I hope I do this correctly. I retired a couple years ago (machinist) and have found some new and re-interests. I’d been without a Mustang for over 10 years, so last summer I got a nice ’93 LX 5.0 hatchback. Last winter I joined a gun club, and last summer I started .22LR Benchrest shooting. One of the Club rules is that "probies" put in a certain number of work hours. Last March (2013) I worked the Club-sponsored gun show, which brought me to WACA.
I had always liked Winchesters, and wanted a pre-’64. One of the vendors had a really nice Model 94 that I just couldn’t pass up. It’s a standard carbine made in October, 1945. It has a Lyman #56 Receiver sight, which later research showed wasn’t the best thing for originality, but I don’t care, I like it.
I have since become a fan of Model 1892’s in .32-20 caliber, and have picked up a couple of SRC’s. I must also like "different" things because I have also gotten a ’92 (rifle) made in 1923 but with a Model 65 barrel (.32-20), and a ’92 (rifle, .25-20) made in 1901 that has an 18 1/2" barrel in .38Spl/.357Mag caliber. I’m far from a "techie", so once I figure out how to post photos, I’ll be back.
That should be enough for this first post. Sorry if I overdid it.
