I am looking for a person or company that does Winchester Stock & Forearm Checkering. My need now is for the I Pattern checkering on a Winchester 94 pistol grip. It appears that those who have done it in the past have retired or they are to busy to take on new customers. Reasonable pricing would help. I hope this does not become a lost art.

Same story everywhere, for every other sort of skilled craft. Knowing this, you still hope for “reasonable pricing”? Did you read the “Winchester Bob” thread? I’ve now been waiting 2 yrs for a checkering job. How could it be otherwise under a gov’t that pays people not to work, bans eviction for non-payment of rent, & cancels student loans? (But still has 50+ billion to spend on a foreign war.)
All summer long, I’ve been trying to find a carpenter, handyman, or someone to install a dead-bolt lock in the steel door of the clubhouse at my range. (No regular locksmith around here, since the last one retired.) I offered $50 to do the job, but no takers.
Have you tried contacting this fellow.
He may not be what your looking for. Or is able to do the work. If he’s not too busy, etc.
Sincerely,
Maverick
