I recently acquired a 1961 Model 100. The firing pin was the original that is subject to a recall. I called the number that has been posted on several sites and confirmed that my serial number had not had the new pin installed. I mailed the old pin on Dec. 16 and received the new one today. Not bad considering the mess that USPS is in but, more importantly that Olin is still honoring a thirty year old recall. I hope to test the rifle as soon as I get some .308 ammo.

Well, there is more good news. Today I received a check for $30.00 from Repco Logistics for the returned firing pin. It amazes me that Olin still honors a 30 year old recall for a gun that went out of production nearly 50 years ago. The model 100 is tricky but not impossible to work on. If it were not for the firing pin, I don’t know if I would have disassembled it as far as I did. I have not fired it yet but hope to when we get a warm day.

I have also sent my firing pin to them for the exchange , I did receive a 35.00 payment, how ever to date have not received my replacement firing pin. It has been near four months now, been told that I will receive this and must be patient. I have had this unit apart all this time it is painfull.
