I just found an interesting article on the MET website: It contains high-resolution scans from the workbook of Louis D. Nimschke.

He lived and learned not far from me. The engraving school in Zella (Suhl / Thuringia) still trains engravers today. The training lasts 3 years and ends with a government certification exam.

There is also some 4 to 5 highly engraved Winchester at the MET. You can search the website and find them.
I’m to lazy to post all the links to them. Some nice pieces for sure.

Just go to link Steff posted and type Nimschke in the search box. There is a lightweight takedown M1886 with fancy pistol grip checkered wood (and a whole lot of Nimschke engraving and gold inlay) that is fabulous
