Good Evening,
I purchased a Winchester Model 1890 over the weekend. The serial number dates it to 1894. Per the store I purchased it from, it is chambered in .32-20 but there are no markings on the barrel to denote the chambering.
My online research shows they were chambered in .22 short or .22 Long Rifle but do not mention .32-20. thank you for any insights you can provide.

Todd,
The serial number on the rifle will tell us precisely when it was manufactured.
Winchester did not ever chamber the Model 1890 for a center fire cartridge. The early production Model 1890 rifles were chambered for the 22 Short, 22 or, or 22 WRF only. The 22 Long Rifle was added in the year 1918. If the barrel is unmarked as to which cartridge it is chambered for, it is not a factory original barrel. Proceed with caution!
