I’ve had this a while and think I’m finally going to spend some money to have it framed. I’m no expert, but it appears to be a period poster. While I wish it had Jimmy Stewart (Lin McAdams) pictured, it’s still a great find. Millard Mitchell (is High Spade & Jimmy Stewart’s friend) and Shelly Winters (is Lola Manners & eye candy for the movie). Curious if anyone else has seen this particular poster variation? It’s heavy paper mounted onto linen. 29 1/8″ wide & 41″ tall. Overall it’s 31″ x 43″. There are staple holes in the corners of the poster and some rub marks, but overall, the color is vibrant and is in amazing condition. Mounting points at top & bottom and is marked Argentina on the bottom left. Thinking that I would haul it to the upcoming Reno, Denver & Cody shows for bait… someone might want it more than me. 🙂

I once had dozens of movie posters from the same time period, but never heard of an original mounted on linen. It could be an original that a previous owner had mounted that way. I’d be wary of spending too much on the framing, esp. because this is not one of the better posters from that film, & the foreign provenance detracts from its value, at least among poster collectors.

I’m pretty sure it was mounted on the linen to help “preserve” it… You can see the staple holes are in the poster only, they don’t protrude thru the linen. Maybe I’ll just have it shrink wrapped onto poster board… let the new owner frame it however they like.

Much wiser, I think.

I have a couple of them and I just went to Walmart and put them in cheap poster frames to protect them. Its not going to bring a lot of money since it was printer for foreign display.

If you truly want it protected, I’d get if framed by a professional using “Museum Glass”. Also known as conservation glass that protect against 99% UV light. It will keep it from further degrading.
That said, I agree with the others. The post while original is not the most valuable, as it doesn’t have Jimmy Stewart. I also wouldn’t get it framed, as the new owner may not like the frame you choose.
