I like to run 2 molds when casting for my 40-65 1886. I have one 40-65 mold that throws a 260 gr. bullet. A 40-82 mold , I think, will also throw a 260 gr. bullet. Will these bullets be one and the same ? The reason being is that I’m having trouble finding another 40-65 mold and see a 40-82 mold for sale. I’m pretty sure they will throw the same bullet but want to be sure. Thanks, Dale.

Big fan of NOE as well, he makes improvements on many of the old Lyman designs in very high quality multi-cavity moulds as well as other classic and more modern designs. If Swede’s moulds aren’t quite what you want check with Tom at Accurate. He has many mould designs in his catalog and is willing to create a custom mould for you if you’ll just tell him what you want. His turnaround time is remarkably short. Both are very good people to deal with.
Someday I’d like to add a Winchester mould to my little collection.
I wish to thank all who replyed to my question. But sometimes I have trouble putting in print what’s in my head. I meant to say that that it was “orginial” Winchester molds I was asking about. TR’s reply answered my question. But I do thank you all. Dale.

I suspected you may have been referring to original moulds. Very interesting topic, prices seem to be all over the place and sometimes a well-used mould is hard to identify. If it’s not too much trouble I’d be interesting in seeing some pics of your moulds.
