I recently acquired a Winchester 1894 DOB 1910; However, it was rebarreled by two well-known gun smiths in early 1960 to 44 wild cat, 44 mag, 44 spl.  I’m trying to find out what its birth caliber was.  Winchester said they could not help.  No response from Cody Yet

Bill,

If it truly is a 1910 production Model 1894, Cody does not have the records for it, and it will not be possible to determine which cartridge it was originally chambered for. If the serial number is less than 354000, Cody does have the records, but that would make it a 1907 or earlier production gun.
