I was pretty anxious to go as well but have decided against going and rolled my tables till November. Too much work going on right now related to the freeze losses across Texas an Oklahoma from back in February. Cant afford to loose 3 days right now when Im already a month behind on projects. Just bad timing.

They are putting up fencing all around the fair grounds with gates and redoing the front entrance around the driller statue. The front entrance will be done by Sept they say.

It was an 18 hour drive for me but met some of the fine folks above and it was worth the drive. Bought some Winchesters on Friday and I am a happy camper!
First gun show for me since Cody last July.

Got to meet a few members at the show and picked up some cheap 44-40 and 22 long ammo.

Had a nice trip to Tulsa, show was well attended and managed. When I walked in that 11 acre building I got a smile on my face that lasted until I left. The sad part was I came back with my money. Missed a couple rare guns, saw a lot of guns sold. Nice stuff brought good money.
It felt good to hold a gun with a price tag in my hand and inspect it. You have to pick a lot of apples to find one without a worm, no finer place to look and educate yourself. It made me appreciate what I have. Nice stuff is rare, valuable, and hard to find. T/R
I would say only 10% of the people wore masks. The police and security didn’t wear them.
The crowd Saturday was just a little light compared to other shows.
Ammo was about twice retail but plenty of it. Very little powder and bullets. Primers could be bought for about $175 to $250 per 1000 from what I saw. I bought a green/yellow box of Remington 44-40 jacketed for $40 and two 100 round plastic trays of CCI 22 long for $20 each.
Got to meet Casey Nanz and JWA

Steve, Oklahoma has dropped it’s mask law but Tulsa has one with a $100 fine. Very few masks in the buildings, even the security people took the mask off. Full show with a normal full crowd. I don’t think it was any different than pre-covid.
Usually there are pallets of ammo in the building, not there this time. Prices on ammo and primers were black market high and “not selling”, primers 14-20 cents apiece, 20 round common rifle $50. This was not a ammo show.
The dealers were busy buying guns for customers back home. Tulsa has always been a show to buy at, not sell at. Saw a lot of money being counted. Perhaps not having a show for over a year brought the guns out. It seemed like the old days. T/R

TGCA show in San Angelo next weekend. Haven’t been to a show of any kind since Fall 2019. Am looking to thin the herd a bit and focus on higher quality pieces and generate capital for the Cody show. What was hot as far as collectibles in Tulsa? Any pricing suggestions or areas to focus on?

Would have been worth going there merely to enjoy such a temporary respite from the unending media-inflamed hysteria.

I’m amazed to see all the chin-diapers still in use. I coined the acronym PAD to describe the mandated palliative apparel device awhile back. I know COVID is an ugly bug but the mask was a poor attempt to fight it, IMHO.
