Unfortunately one of our WACA members had a rare Volcanic Rifle stolen at the recent Cody Gun Show.  This post is purely a courtesy provided by WACA to aid a fellow Member in the recovery of his/her stolen property.

The description of the firearm stolen is a Volcanic Iron Frame Carbine w/ a 21″ barrel, s/n 83, 41 caliber (see the picture below).

That is really unfortunate – it looks like a very nice carbine.

A few years ago Tulsa had a couple Henry’s stolen. Eventually they installed cameras and caught a table holder taking it off someones table and putting it under his. Now they steal guns out of cars outside the show and parked at area Hotels. Sometimes vehicle and all, never to be recovered. The thieves are not local, they come for the show.   T/R

Bert, is it truly an Iron Frame or a plated frame? I’ve never heard of an Iron frame in a Volcanic. Thanks,

Casey

I have no knowledge of that rifle other than what was provided to me for the opening posted message.

That stated, based on the fact that Iron frame Henry Rifles exist, I have no reason to doubt that a few Volcanics (the Henry predecessor) would have been manufactured with an Iron frame as well.

The Volcanic has been located, case closed.  I do not have the details, so please do not ask.
