Roy is considering reprinting Volume 2 of the Sharps Rifle four volume set. This has been sold out for some time and is commanding a rather large premium on the used book market.
Roy is looking to see how much interest there would be if he did a reprint coming in at $175.00 or less depending on the number printed. The original printing was 2000 this would be 1000 or less.

Well, after talking with David Carter & Michael Rector (both heavily involved with the series) at the Oregon Arms show this past weekend, they said “it’s not happening”. They are looking at Volume 5 and maybe a “condensed” version of all the variations… but there are no plans to reprint Vol. 2… sorry to be the bearer of bad news…

As someone who has focused his collection efforts elsewhere I’d be more interested in a “condensed” or overview edition but it likely wouldn’t have the content to interest a serious Sharps collector.

Sharps Rifles A Collectors Guide just went to the printer and will be shipping in late October.
It is a concise reference for the identification of all Sharps production from 1848 to 1880.

So do I need to unload my Vol. II? If they are going to be reprinted, I just need it for reference… the “current” value if sold should allow me to purchase the reprint of Vol. II and Vol. V and the “Collector’s Guide”…..
