Depending on your time zone, you may still be able to catch it. On the whole, PBS gun-hatred was held in check, but the commentator (luckily, the most fair-minded on PBS) wanted to be reassured that the Museum was merely presenting American history, not “celebrating” guns–that would be unacceptable, of course, by main-stream media standards.
The new photo-mural was shown & discussed; I don’t like it.
I noticed the PBS guy shot some weapons. The first one was a muzzle loader. He was holding it some distance (1/2 inch to an inch) from his shoulder. Naturally, he got whacked, and it registered a little as surprise. He then shot some other weapons. At the end of the shoot, the gun guy said the PBS guy made his best shot with the first gun. The PBS guy made some crack about being old. But I was thinking “His first shot was the best because after that he was shy.” I couldn’t believe the gun guy did not stand by and coach the PBS guy on how to hold a weapon before touching one off.
I was also put off by the “all history, no celebration” BS. As if guns are history. Not!
