Hello, I am a new member and have 6 Winchester guns. Two 1897 shotguns that I was able to put the model and serial # and get manufacture dates. However I have 4 more that I cannot find the model number on the drop down menu for lookup. 1) An old Winchester Mod 6 .22 caliber pump and three shotguns 2) Mod 120 12 ga 3) Mod 1200 12 ga and 4) Mod 1300 12 ga   What am I doing wrong?  Thanks

James, The shotguns may be too “new” to be listed, but you’re misreading “Mod 6.”  Check with a magnifying glass–it’s either a M 1906 or M 62.

I don’t think You’re doing anything wrong. I’m not real familiar with some of those models , but a lot of the .22 models had no ser#’s and therefore no museum manufacture dates available. If You look up in Red Book of Winchester Values You will find the various years of manufacture. Letters are available for The 1906 ser#’s up to 79999 and man. dates for the remaining. I believe the shot guns are to modern to have info available from Cody

It is a Model 06, and you can look it up by selecting the Model 1906 in the dropdown menu.  As introduced in the year 1906, it was a Model “1906”.  In the year 1919, Winchester shortened all model designations to just 2-digits… e.g. “06”.

We do not have verifiable information for any of the post-1963 production guns, and all three of your Winchester shotguns were manufactured after 1963.  If you will post the serial numbers, I may be able to determine an approximate date of manufacture.

James Meikle said he was looking for dates of manufacture for his shotguns:
“Mod 120 12 ga 3) Mod 1200 12 ga and 4) Mod 1300 12 ga”

If you would like to upload photos of the guns with the serial number, barrel address, left and right views I can give you the dates to within a few henders serial numbers.

I will then add them to my data base for possible future use,

Alternately email them direct to me at [email protected]
