A friend of mine just came into possession of a Winchester 1894 saddle ring carbine in 30-30. The saddle ring and post look to be brass or brass plated as well as the loading gate. It has a 7 digit serial number-3063XXX. The receiver has some scroll engraving. Any help on year of manufacture and value would be appreciated. Also, should it be restored or left as is?

Post 1963 production Model 94 carbines typically do not have much value, and very little collector interest. Based on the partial serial number, it appears to have been manufactured in the year 1967, and might be the “Antique” model. The cost to “restore” or refinish the gun will exceed its value.
