I just purchased a Model 94 32 special. The serial # dates it to 1955 but the barrel I think has been changed. My question is when did Winchester start marking the Barrel  Model 94- 32Win. SPL.    in small letters it says Made in new haven conn u.s. of america

Winchester changed the caliber marking from “32 W.S.” to “32 WIN. SPL.” early in the year 1950. I 1955 vintage barrel should be marked as yours is. If you pull the magazine tube and forend stock off, you should find a 2-digit year number stamped on the bottom of the barrel right next to the receiver frame.
