If you have the rifle, there is more you could tell us about it.  Barrel length, octagon or round, full magazine or shorter magazine, rifle butt or shotgun butt, type of sights, presence of special order features, etc.   As I think of it, you don’t state if it is a rifle or carbine.  And yes, photos would help.  You can use an outside photo hosting site if you’re not a member year.  Also, you could order a ledger search from the museum in Cody, Wyoming if you want to know the details of your rifle when it was originally shipped out by Winchester.

Welcome- Title a bit misleading, an 1895 with that serial # was built in mid 1906 but I suspect it’s an 1894 built in early 1899. With a few more details such as takedown, barrel and stock details we could be a little more helpful buy several good pics would be best.

Pardon my typos, had oral surgery a few hours ago and the keys are a bit troublesome.
