If your Model 1892 has a 5-digit serial number, it was not a true “first year” production. The year 1892 ended with serial number 7121.
The only way we can advise you an idea of what it might be worth, is to visually see it. You can accomplish that by posting a link to clear well illuminated pictures of the rifle.

Model 1892 serial number 122282 was manufactured in the year 1899.

I thought you said it was a 5 digit. 122282 is 6 digits. What is the correct serial number?
thanx chuck and burt I did go to that site and found the man. date to be 1903 so I was wrong this not a first year . I am learning a lot just reading your replys to me and other posts burt your knowledge of Winchesters is emmense thank you for your replies I have much to learn

yes it is 5 digit must have hit an xtra number serial number 12282
That makes it an April 1893 production rifle.
