40 bids on what appears to be a Lymanstien tang sight. Base stamped 2ADA but has a No1 staff & aperture with no disc. eBay buyer beware!!

And DA is the most common variant of all!  Seldom a time when several aren’t simultaneously listed on ebay, so why the buying frenzy?  Can’t even blame the seller of misrepresentation.

A Lyman no1 tang sight has a flip down aperture. The Lyman 2 has a threaded hole for interchangeable eye cups. The base on this sight is a no2 & staff & aperture are a no1.
Not original.

Rick,  Now that I see the original listing photo of the top of the staff, have to agree with Rusty that, since there’s no turn-down inside the shroud, it is a #2 missing the disk.  If the turn-down was just broken off, as they frequently are, the tiny hinge joint would still be visible.

Well my bad if that’s the case clearance but it mentions nothing about that in the description so I can only assume the seller thinks it’s correct. I did not zoom in on the aperture to see if there were threads.
