I’d really like to find a source for soft cases that fit my 20″ Winchester Carbine’s and won’t break the bank…….just something to give them protection without too much bulk.  I am guessing something 42″ would work nicely.

If you have source please share a link or name of the place to purchase.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve gotten 1 or 2 from Walmart, the Ruger name emblazoned on them or the camo print doesn’t bother me. I use nice thicker  silicone treated gun socks more than soft cases.

Are you using them for storing or transporting? If for storing, go with the silicone treated gun socks.  The gun socks will breathe unlike many other types of cases which makes them ideal for storing firearms.  All of my Winchesters are stored in these inside my Fort Knox.  Keeps them from dinging each other too.  WACA sells them in the store on this website as well.

Boyt Harness Co. – boytharness.com

Good quality canvas, enough padding, leather re-enforced, brass zippers – not too expensive and I’ve never had any rust start.

They breathe well (good air circulation).

And, I’m fussy about cases.

I buy these Allen soft cases (made in China but what isn’t these days) at my local Sportsman’s Warehouse.  I think that Wal-Mart carries them too.   They come in different lengths and fit the old rifles well.

I see Midway has Boyt soft cases on sale at present.  If you act quick, it is free shipping for orders over $49:

I like the thick fleece-like socks. Good for storage and gentle transportation. For a bit more protection while transporting the Boyt cases are a good value.
