OfflineI sold 4,800 factory new primed 22 Hornet cases… but that was only half of what I brought to sell. Henry twisted my arm into buying some of his vintage boxed ammo, and Ben way over charged me for a Model 61 22 Mag rifle.
Seeing and chatting with all of the usual faces at the show is always fun… and I met a few of our new WACA members who made the trip for first time.
Jeremy and Lou spent a fair amount of time at that table with Mike and I, and Jeremy got very deep into the spirit of supporting his habits (disease), selling both rifles that he brought to sell, and then buying seven new rifles for his collection!

OfflineYes, my back seat is full, thanks to all the WACA VIPs who gave great buying advice! Thanks Gents.
I had the most fun I’ve had in a long time. Those three days went so fast but met a lot of new people and got to do some serious visiting with others.
I’m bedding down in Colorado Springs for the night until I drive the other half back tomorrow…sitting here licking my financial wounds 🙂

Jeremy-
Colorado Springs? Slacker!
I just rolled into Trinidad. Wanted to get to Raton but didn’t trust myself going over Raton Pass at night after a nearly 700 mile day. Safe travels. Been to Big Texan Steakhouse in Amarillo lately?

So the Cody show is done for another year. I just have to know how it was! I was able to go last year for the first time and wanted to go again this year but, aah life, just keeps getting in the way. I hope all was well and festive. I will shoot for next year!
Tom-
It’s hard to miss a year once you make a trip or two to Cody. Great bunch of people and world-class eye candy. I hope you can make it next year!

We enjoyed seeing those 1893’s, Bert! Actually I think you sold about 3000 cases and the other 1800 got sold by whoever was hanging around while you were out surveying! I was able to recruit four new TGCA members and one renewal. I’m thinking at least a couple of the wonderful displays we saw last week will be at the TGCA show October 16-18 in Denton, TX. Glad to have you as a new TGCA member, Bert, hope you can make it to a show someday. I promise it won’t be as hot as last week.

OfflineTom-
As usual, Rob took lots of pics (if I didn’t break his camera!) so you will be able to enjoy them in the next Collector. As usual it was the best show ever, considering all the stops that were pulled out for last year’s 50th anniversary. Heather, Vinny and their helpers worked very hard to make it enjoyable for all of us.
