Gentlemen:
Can anyone help with determining the age and approx. value of this full unsealed box of Peters smokeless .40-65? Cartridges seem to be in decent shape. An internet search was of limited value.

Did you check the inside flaps for lot / date markings? Of course if there it will be some crypto encoded ultra secert, but that gives you more fun.

According to International Ammunition Association “Dating Cartridge Boxes by Peters Cartridge Company”, sample box P5 indicates circa 1935-1950. “Peters became a division of Remington in 1933 and about this time Peters Cartridge Company disappears from the box front. Remington became a subsidiary of DuPont in 1934 and about this time the DuPont logo appears on Peters boxes on the back”.
