Hi Winchester Collectors!
I started posting questions without introducing myself, so let me remedy that. My name is James and I’m located in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have a small collection of Winchesters, in chronological order:
- Model 1873 standard sporting rifle in 32 WCF w/octagon barrel & full-length mag tube #562573B (1902) – dad bought in New Zealand in 1985
- Model 1906 #125618B (1909) – was my great granddad’s (as evidenced by his initials carved in the stock
)
- Model 94 in 30-30 #2442566 (1960) – was my dad’s
- Model 94 in 30-30 #4784025 (1979) – was my dad’s; I shot it a bit growing up
- Model 94AE Trapper in 45 Colt w/cross-bolt safety (year unknown, somewhere in 1992-2003 apparently) – was my dad’s
- Model 94 Deluxe Carbine in 30-30 #00043ZT94F (Miroku, 2017) – impulse buy at LGS because the wood was so damn gorgeous & the action so smooth!
I recently won this GB auction so should be adding a Model 92 in 32-20 #498602 (1909) to the stable in the next week or so.
I have a lot of non-Winchesters too, including several Marlins, an 1873 Springfield Trapdoor carbine (post-Custer), a few evil black rifles, and a few handguns (including modern cowboy-style revolvers in 32-20 and 45 Colt to go with the Winchesters!).
I’m a low-volume reloader (single stage press, not enough hours in the day). I recently loaded up some 32-20 for the 1873 and am hoping to get it to the range soon to see how it shoots.
I’m starting to test the waters on collecting Winchesters more actively, so I joined WACA so I could learn more.
Regards,
James

We need to start a WACA Kalifornia support group. Los Angeles here, but I moved to SF from Ohio about 30 years ago. Escaped SF after about 3 years to LA which was still relatively free at the time. That’s changed and I’m ready to go to Free America now.
Welcome to WACA.
