I understand that it is against the law to ship any gun part (butt stock, sights, butt plates, etc.) from the U.S.A. to any other country.  (Including Canada and Great Britain).  Is this correct information?  Thanks, Roger B

That’s a good question, I’ve asked 3 different legal folks and got 3 different answers, antique/, functioning part?, type of firearm?, etc. It’s sure as hell no problem in Canada to import them.

Roger, contact one of the auction houses.  Guns do get shipped out of the country somehow?

I thought there might be a simple answer.  I have someone in Great Britain interested in a carbine sight and it never entered my mind about customs and other government red tape.  Definitely did not give it much thought.  I better stick to Maine and Florida on one side and Hawaii on the other. Thanks for opening my eyes.  Roger B

Packages sent to foreign countries always go through customs, so customs duties can be charged the buyer; why you fill out a declared value on the shipping label.  I’ve sold gun parts to Europe (labeled machine parts) & a scope to Japan. One problem however is that insurance isn’t available, so the buyer has to understand it’s HIS risk is the item is lost or damaged.
