Looking for advice on good collector insurance.  Currently using Markel policy but the agent is absolutely nonresponsive so have made the decision to change carriers.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Rick-

I left Markel a few years ago because of one of their claim provisions and found a much better price and policy with Collectibles Insurance Services (CIS). Some members were talking about them on this forum and the agent I talked to has been very responsive when I had questions.

Thanks Mike:

I used to have Collectibles but left several years ago due to price but now I have trouble sleeping fearing that any claim I have with Markel would never get paid due to agent malaise.  I will get a quote from them.

Are these third party coverages typically cheaper than homeowner’s addendums? I assume they’re easier to process if needed….

Jeremy-

It’s my understanding standard homeowners insurance even with unscheduled property coverage is an iffy situation in the event of a claim. Most insurance agents will give an ambiguous answer when the subject is raised. I would discuss it with an agent who offers this type of insurance.
