Worth the price or not only you can answer that. But, I didn’t buy one when they first came out because I thought they were expensive at around $350 a set. Years later I found a set for about $250. I can tell you I wish I had bought mine when they first came out. Most extensive data on the 1873 there is out there. A must for any Winchester library.
That two volume set is on 11×14″ paper, hard cover bound, and has it all on the model 1873. Jim spent a great deal of time and travel recording and photographing 73’s. That is the best source on that model. Well worth the money if you collect 73s. I use it all the time as a quick reference on dye stampings of serial numbers, barrel addresses, and model stamp. Since it’s publication you don’t have to be a 73 expert to know what your looking at, just buy the book.

A set sold on Ebay earlier this month for $500. They are worth it if your into 73’s
