I have a model 1873 that has a brass spot underneath the stock. Does anybody know why it might be there?  2CC25D4C-59F3-4CA8-8F6D-E8EF9A7A14E6.jpegImage Enlarger

It looks like someone had a sling swivel in the stock and then filled the hole with the brass piece.
