OnlineWell, I finally managed to escape Cody this morning at 9:20 am (after cooking up that bar fight hoax story with Mike and Jeff). Sorry that some of you acted on it with intent… it was only meant to create a levity based discussion.
I landed in St. Regis MT for the night (500-miles drive from Cody), and I will finish the trip home tomorrow after a good night’s sleep and breakfast in the morning.
Bert
p.s. I did buy one Winchester this year… a very nice Model 61 22 Magnum, but I had to contribute extra $$$ for it to support Ben’s fuel bill to get his greatly overloaded van back home to eastern WA.

OfflineQuite honestly I pulled over in Meeteetsee to make that hoax post, right across the street from the Meeteetsee “Jail”. It’s tough to leave Cody after a great show, the late risers had to make a second pot of coffee as Bert and I drank the first pot while discussing some of the interesting quirks revealed by his surveys.
Y’all have a safe trip home!

Pulled into the driveway @ 4:00 pm this afternoon and then spent the next 30-minutes unloading the truck. Then I promptly took a 1-hour nap! Logged a total of 2,000 miles on the old Dodge, the odometer now reads 406,561.
Bert
Hope everyone makes it home unfettered.
Bert, youve still got a bit to go to catch me, Im at 562K on the old FORD!!
I think that old Dodge will get there, she’s a fine piece of truck.

I got in around 8, I had a nap attack after lunch at the Big Texan and spent an hour in a rest stop a couple hours east of there. Then a stop to re-set a camera and check on a machine that always seems to get fussy this time of year. Still cooler here in Texas than it was in Cody! Around 2500 miles for me, pretty sure that trip is getting longer every year.

OfflineGlad you all made it home safe. It was good to see everyone. Enjoy your new toy Bert… and thanks for the fuel funds! I behaved and kept my speed to 70mph… I got 13.6 mpg on the return trip!
Everyone, please mark this down: the 3rd Annual, Unofficial, Informal, Pre-Cody Show BBQ Dinner Gathering has been scheduled. 5:30pm on July 7th @ Fat Rack’s BBQ! Hope to see everyone there! Cheers! Ben

Chris,
At my current rate, I am not going to ever catch your old Ford 7.3 Power stroke… you most definitely got a good one!

I spoke with his son Geoff Sunday at the show, and he informed me that Tim made it through the surgery in good shape and that he is recovering well. They were going to release him Monday and he should be on his way home. I hope that we hear from him soon.

Tim just called. He sounds good, they are staying in Kearney, NE tonight. He was released from the hospital yesterday and says he is feeling better today than yesterday. He hopes to cover 300-500 miles a day, will be taking it slow and easy. I’m glad Geoff came with him this year!
