Just wondering if any of you fine gentlemen will be at the Denver Show? It is my intent to be there, but my work could get in the way. I am only 40 minutes from the show so it will be a shame if I get tied up. Are any of you going to be there?
I plan on setting up with Rick Hill, so come find us if you are wandering aimlessly in utter amazement of the selection. Our table got moved, I hear, so I’m not sure where we will be this year.
Hope to see some of you there, its a fantastic show.

Hey Bill,
Glad to hear you are coming. I will look you up for sure. Sounds like we may be unloading in the snow and rain……. oh well, me and my Winchesters have been wet before. Have you been to this show before? If not, you are in for quite a treat. I’d say its at least double the amount of collector guns as Reno, and 4 times what the Cody show is, although I prefer the traffic in Cody a little better.
Rick – Do you know what our table number is?

Gary,
I’ve been to Denver twice, but several years ago. I really like the style and size of the show, and, being of an “extreme” western state, I like the fact that many vendors and people come from mid-western states which I don’t see in Reno and Las Vegas. First Cody Show this summer, so good times ahead !
See you there.

Guys,
Rick and I will be in the second room if you go up the long ramp on the right side. Not sure what the table number is but will see if I can find you too.
Yes, the cruddy weather has just showed up out east of Denver tonight. Should make it interesting trying to set up.
Bill – you will love the Cody Show. Although its much smaller, its sure has a nice WACA family feel to it.

What a great show in Denver once again! Glad to see plenty of WACA members there, and met lots of new friends too.
Here’s a set of cartridge boxes I bought together. I thought I ought to have all the 1894 calibers to go with my short rifles.
I bought a fairly scarce 1894 short rifle as well, which is now the new king of the safe. I will have to get some pics together and post them one of these days.

Ok, I finally got a few pictures taken.
This is a fairly interesting 1894 Deluxe short rifle. Its a 22″ octagon barrel ELW, takedown, 1/2 mag, with a Lyman 21………and…… a matted barrel. This happens to be noted by s/n in the Armax survey and is one of only 17 22″ matted barrels. Who knows how many of those 17 are ELW octagons? Its not a high condition rifle (as most of mine are not) but its officially the coolest 1894 shorty I have acquired. It has a couple anomalies, but I was comfortable with them. All in all, the records tell the story, and its not your run of the mill 1894………I think I’ll keep it for a while.
Enjoy….

Congrats! My computer and I are fighting so I can’t get a good look at it but it certainly looks like a keeper.
