I was checking the manufacturing dates on my Model 62 and Model 1897 using the calculator here on this site and , on both guns, the date is 2 years older than any other serial number list I have used. I came up with the same year models on both of my 94 here. Any idea why there would be a 2 year discrepancy?
My 62 is serial number 273103 which I thought was 1951. My 1897 is 712808 which I thought was 1921.
Simple, the WACA database is more accurate than your other sources you’ve used. The only more accurate place would be the Cody Firearms Museum. Which you can get a Cody Letter of the SNA for the Model 97. I believe your 62 maybe out of the available serial range to get a Cody Letter.
