I acquired a 94 that looks like it has been in a fire and so it no longer has the wood. I’ve read that my 1953 mfg carbine will have a wider tang than the pre-war variety. So my question is which type replacement stock will best fit? I’m still unclear whether I need to replace my wood with a pre or post stock because of the tang difference.

OfflineThe shape of the receiver frame on the Model 94 was altered in January 1948, and it resulted in a corresponding change to the butt stock. You did not mention the serial number (or date of manufacture) on the Model 94 that you acquired without a butt stock.
