To All,

Was wondering if any of our membership would have known noted author James E. Serven, or members of his family. If so, I’d like to speak/correspond with you for research of an article about him and other members of the “Big 9”.

Books by Mr. Serven:

Mr. Serven was also a member of ASAC-American Society of Arms Collectors. If any members of WACA are also members of ASAC, I’d also like to correspond with you about Mr. Serven and his involvement in the Society.

Sincerely,

Brady Henderson

He wrote about so many different antique guns for the Rifleman that I never realized his specialty was Colt.  Only one of his books I had was the last one.

Well so far, 2 of the 9, which these two men we’re trying to find more info on. One Mr. Henry J. Geir and one Mr. James E. Serven.

Since posting this topic I’ve found more info on Mr. Serven, he passed away in 1985. Jim started the Santa Ana Gunroom in Santa Ana, California  and was also a member of The Southern California Arms Collectors Association.

Not much else have a found about on Mr. Geir, just rumor that he was also possibly a member of The Southern California Arms Collectors Association.

So the search for information continues. Hopefully all this information will make for an interesting article.

Sincerely,

Maverick

I went to the Santa Ana Gunroom and attended a lot of the SCACA events many years ago.
