Hi Jeff
I wish I was able to help you out more on this but all I have are a few different advertisements similar to the one below from the early 1900s. There will also be some image(s) of the Daniels rear sight on rifles in the Model 1895 book. They turn up on old Winchesters and other rifles.

I’m not sure this would have been available for a rifle made in 1893. Maybe someone else here knows more about them.
Brad
Here is another thread where Brad provided some information on the Daniels sight – https://winchestercollector.org/forum/winchester-sights/chas-daniels-sight/
Also, here is mention of it in the circa 1910 Hunter-Trader-Trapper on page 90 which indicates a lengthy description of it by Charles Daniels given out in circular form but I have never found a copy yet. https://books.google.com/books?id=eS3OAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA90&lpg=PA90&dq=%22chas+daniels%22+rifle+sight&source=bl&ots=jcQbTiigWy&sig=1WO_e7JHeyr0BmAyOhgyh6YGiUE&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiM6Lr0kffTAhVN4mMKHWP9DzwQ6AEIQjAH#v=onepage&q=%22chas%20daniels%22%20rifle%20sight&f=false There is also an ad for the Daniels sight on page 11 of the same book (just scroll up).
I love these old periodicals and magazines, in addition to the interesting advertisements there are some fascinating articles of days gone by.
Regards,
PS; For Bert and others interested in the 1897 and 1901 shotguns there is a brief article with nice cutaway views on page 84 of this same magazine.

This 1894 short rifle has this sight. I think Brad and I looked at the gun in Cody a few years ago. The sight looks like its been on there forever, although I’m not sure if its factory. The gun is out of the letterable range. Its a pretty cool sight, and uncommon for sure.
