OfflineSo I immediately noticed the pistol grip on the 94 and got curious. If you read the description the stock isn’t original, but it seems to fit well. Checkering looks off, and the lever doesn’t look right either. With the replacement barrel I’m Wondering if this is a bubba or return and repair. I’m leaning towards bubba.

Adam-
With a starting place like either of these the only question is where do you go from here? Someone like Homestead may be able to part them out to yield some good parts. Not sure what repairs the description refers to but if they were noted it’s safe to assume they were not of good quality. As shooters they may be a bargain but may need further repairs and most of us don’t need any more shooters anyway.
Either has the makings of an interesting project, got something in mind?

That Model 94 is not actually a Model 94… instead, it is a Model 64 with a Model 94 front-end. The serial number (1551412) is right in the middle of a batch of 1949 production Model 64 rifles. Bubba (the self-proclaimed gunsmith) stripped down a Model 94 Carbine and used the barrel and forend assembly to rebuild a poor condition Model 64 deer Rifle. The checkering pattern, grip cap, and lever are factory original for a Model 64 Deer Rifle.

Mike. No projects in mind. I thought the 90 was a parts gun. I’m not familiar with the new generation of Winchesters so I didn’t recognize the 64 rear end. I also do not need another 30-30 shooter. I was curious about the pistol gripped 94. Thanks to Bert for pointing out it’s a frankenchester
