I checked out a 73 dust cover which the seller describes as original Winchester but it appears to be made in their Italy plant according to the bottom.

I see the listing has been changed. Nice catch.

I think this is what Bob is referring to:

Decent shape, Check pictures. Aged repo italy made part.

I had sent the seller a question "Since when did Winchester have a plant in Italy" and they responded quickly to change their post. Some do.

Guys,

It still shows as being Italy made in the description portion of the page.

If I remember the original post had it as an original Winchester part with no reference to Italy and a $140.00 price tag. I think Bob was referencing to the fact that you could see the Italy stamp in the one photo. 😕

Gene,

You are correct, I didn’t think the guy would be so fast to correct the auction. I was amazed by someone that took pictures of the part and I assume he could see the "Italy" and not put 2 and 2 together but after looking at his other auctions he probable doesn’t know Winchesters very well.

Sometimes I see stuff when I take a closeup picture with a digital camera that I missed with the naked eye. Probably time for me to start carrying a magnifying glass.
That’s good the seller corrected it right away.
