Here’s an article about a bill to make the antique firearm cut-off 1913. Sounds like a plan to me.

While I would love for this to happen, all I can say is good luck with THAT one!!! Right now, you have lots of folks who want to see the gun show loophole closed, many who just simply treat pre-1899 as though it is like any other firearm, and jurisdictions that regard all firearms as such, even if they are truly antique, it is hard to believe that this would change to 1913 in this political climate.
