Has have any of you guys heard of a first model carbine smooth bore? I just acquired one and it does say 44 shot on the barrel it was made in 1875 and comes back as carbine no other info available

I have smooth bore rifles  that letter in my survey and 1 third model carbine with smooth bore which does not letter.

I have an ’86 22″ bbl. semi-deluxe in 45-70 smoothbore that does not letter

I found out today that it is not a smooth bore somehow somebody took the rifling out of it did a good job and it came back as carbine 1875.
