I just purchase a model 52 B Winchester 22 Long Rifle in beautiful shape, it’s miss the elevation knob clicker and the screw that holds the knob assembly. Does anbody have the part lists for this? I think it had a scope, because the knob assembly may have been taken off. My question is the 48 wjs have to be removed to put scope on. Or anybody have knob and screw assembly sizes and part list? Looking for a scope too. 1948 Winchester 22 long rifle model 52. King of the 22’s
Robert, the slide is frequently missing on guns on which scopes have been mounted, because any detachable part separated from a gun is usually lost, sooner or later. Both slides & bases show up separately on ebay, but since the slides were originally hand-fitted to the bases, & given matching numbers, mismatched slides & bases may not fit together just right. To find a slide on ebay, you’ll have to search “Lyman receiver sight” for as long as it takes. If you’re in a hurry, you may just have to buy a complete WJS; they run about $200, I believe.
You did not mention what model 52B you have, however the 48 WJS is actually a model 70 receiver sight. In regard to 48 series of sights, the 52B depending on model, used either the 48F, 48FH, 48J or 48JH. If all you need is the Elevation knob and detent spring plate, any of the 48 series sight parts should work.
